Due to the Province of the Immaculate Conception’s inability to staff the parish at this time they have notified the Archdiocese of Boston of their plans to depart from the parish effective Dec. 15th. The Archdiocese is currently working to provide us with pastoral support to help us move forward during this time of transition. While for nearly a century our parish identity was formed by the religious communities of both the Stigmatine and Franciscan Religious Orders, we are confident that God will continue to provide for our parish. The Sacred Heart Church community looks forward to many more years of fruitful ministry under the leadership of the Archdiocese of Boston. Please note that next Saturday, Dec. 11th at 4:00 PM, Fr. Richard Donovan, OFM, former Parochial Vicar at Sacred Heart has, with a heavy heart, requested to celebrate a farewell Mass on behalf of the Friars in Fr. Dennis’s absence. This Mass will effectively mark the last celebration for the Francisan Friars, but we will continue in ministry as a parish community following their departure.
